Reds hoping Cozart (quad) will return from disabled list when eligible
Cincinnati Reds manager Bryan Price said Monday that the team is "optimistic" shortstop Zack Cozart (quad) will be activated on June 28 when first eligible.
Cozart could not avoid a trip to the disabled list after hurting his quad in mid-May and trying to play through it. He went on the DL Monday, but Cozart said he's hoping to be back to doing baseball activities by Friday. If that's the case, he could be activated by the time the Reds return home to face the Milwaukee Brewers next week.
Our models project Cozart for a .281 average with 8 home runs and 29 RBI over 231 plate appearances remaining this season.
