Cubs' Jason Heyward (laceration) out Monday against the Padres
Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is not in the lineup against the San Diego Padres on Monday.
Heyward suffered a laceration on his wrist on Sunday, which forced him to make an early exit from that game, and he'll remain sidelined tonight. Jon Jay will bump over to right field while Kyle Schwarber returns to the lineup and starts in left.
Heyward has hit for a .258/.316/.399 slash with a .309 wOBA through 217 plate appearances in 2017. numberFire's models project him to hit .255 and notch another 5 home runs, 5 stolen bases and 32 RBI over the remainder of the season.
