Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera launched a walkoff two-run home run to secure the Tigers a 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday.
Cabrera said after the game that he has been dealing with some back issues for a while, but those didn't stop him on Thursday as he went 2-for-5, also adding a double in the game, giving him at least one extra-base hit in each of his last three games.
Cabrera's production is down this year, with a .351 wOB and .166 ISO, but he has been making some outstanding contact, with a career-high 48.3% hard-hit rate and only a 6.7% soft-hit rate. numberFire's models project him to hit .299 and tally 14 home runs and 52 RBI in 352 plate appearances over the remainder of the season.
