Mets shut down Noah Syndergaard (lat) for four more weeks
New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (lat) will rest four more weeks before beginning a throwing program.
The initial timeline called for a six-week shutdown, but will now be closer to eight weeks for Syndergaard. The new schedule would make Thor's return to the rotation near the end of August. With the way the season is going for the Mets, there is now a growing chance they shut down the 24-year-old for the remainder of the year.
Our projections of 48 2/3 innings pitched for Syndergaard the rest of the season is looking more and more optimistic with every new report.
