Philadelphia Phillies catcher Andrew Knapp is in the starting lineup for Thursday's home game against the Boston Red Sox.
Knapp will be starting behind the plate while Cameron Rupp gets the day off, and is slated to bat eighth against Boston's left-handed ace Chris Sale.
Knapp's .316 wOBA through 92 plate appearances isn't terrible for his rookie season, but he's also sporting a 28.3% strikeout rate and is not a viable option against Sale, who has a 2.55 SIERA and leads qualifying pitchers with a 35.3% strikeout rate.
