Milwaukee Brewers closer Corey Knebel earned his ninth save of the season Tuesday as the Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8-5 to split a day-night doubleheader at Busch Stadium.
Knebel continues to be lights out in the ninth and while he gave up a two-out single to Tommy Pham, he closed to door Tuesday night to help the Brewers split the doubleheader. Knebel already has six saves in the month of June.
Knebel owns a 1.11 ERA and 0.99 WHIP over 32 1/3 innings this season. Our models expect him to regress some down the second half of the season, projecting him for a 3.13 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 40 1/3 innings remaining this season.
