Mets' Jacob deGrom dominates Cubs in complete game

New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom recorded the second complete game of his career in Monday's victory, limiting the Chicago Cubs to just one run on five hits.

What It Means:

deGrom's only mistake came to Addison Russell, who hit a 3-1 pitch over the right field wall in the seventh inning. The Mets' ace threw 116 pitches (80 for strikes) as he walked four and struckout six in a nice bounce back performance. deGrom will face the Washington Nationals in his next start on Sunday.

deGrom is now sporting a 3.35 xFIP with a 5-3 record and 100 strikeouts in 13 starts (81 innings pitched).
