Mets' Yoenis Cespedes leaves Monday's game with sore heel
New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes departed Monday's game against the Chicago Cubs with a sore left heel.
It is unclear exactly when Cespedes got hurt. He flew out in the bottom of the fifth but was replaced in the outfield by Juan Lagares to start the sixth inning. Fortunately for the outfielder, it was not a reoccurrence of either his hamstring or quad injury that sidelined him for six weeks. Consider Cespedes day-to-day until we get a further word.
Cespedes went 1-for-3 on Monday, raising his average to .278 in 84 plate appearances. He has 7 home runs and 14 RBI this season.
