The Tampa Bay Rays have placed starting pitcher Matt Andriese on the 10-day disabled list with a stress reaction in his hip.
Andriese will be out until August according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. It's bad timing for the right-hander, who was just coming off missing time with a groin strain. He will be out for the better part of two months as Jacob Faria has been called up to take his spot in the rotation.
Andriese has a 3.54 ERA over 61 innings pitched this season. His strikeout rate is at 21.1 percent while his SIERA is sitting at 4.27.
