New York Mets starting pitcher Seth Lugo spun seven innings of one-run ball in a 2-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday afternoon in his season debut.
Lugo allowed six hits while striking out six and walking two batters in his first start in 2017. His role is up in the air right now, but it's possible that Lugo replaces Robert Gsellman in the Mets' starting rotation.
Entering Sunday, numberFire's models projected Lugo to record a 4.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 17.2 strikeout percentage this season.
