New York Yankees pitcher Chad Green will start Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles.
Green has put up appealing numbers throughout his career. Working primarily as a starter for New York in 2016, he posted a 26.3% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate. He's been in the bullpen for the duration of his 2017 tenure with the Yanks, but he's dominated there, putting up a 35.1% strikeout rate and 7.0% walk rate.
It's hard to get away from either Chris Archer and Carlos Carrasco on today's main slate, but if you want to get funky, Green certainly has some enticing talent and is priced at $5,600. His big negative, however, is that he hasn't pitched more than 3 2/3 frames in an outing at the big-league level this year, so it remains to be seen how deep the Yankees let him work today.
