Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon (cancer) is scheduled to start Monday against the visiting Colorado Rockies.
The Bucs called up Taillon, who had been rehabbing his way back from cancer treatments, earlier Saturday. Taillon is slated to start Monday's game versus the Rockies. In a corresponding move, the Bucs sent down struggling righty Tyler Glasnow.
Taillon has put up some impressive numbers in his brief major-league career. He owns a 3.75 SIERA, 20.3% strikeout rate and 5.3% walk rate across his first 139 1/3 innings. Our rest-of-season projections have Taillon posting a 4.63 ERA with 56 punchouts in 77 2/3 frames.
