Reds' Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) is behind schedule in rehab

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (elbow) is "behind" and unlikely to return until August, manager Bryan Price said Thursday.

What It Means:

DeSclafani was cleared for a throwing program a few weeks ago but things haven't gone smoothly. "Disco is behind," Price said. "He initiated another throwing program that will take him close to... that last week or week and a half of June, he may be approaching his mound time. That's like bullpens and then games. I wouldn't anticipate him until probably around August (in Cincinnati). That would be realistic." With DeSclafani trying to pitch through a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament, it's unlikely he's a big-time contributor in fantasy leagues this year.

Our algorithms project DeSclafani to earn a 4.90 ERA, 17.0 percent strikeout rate, and 7.4 percent walk rate this year in 71 2/3 more innings pitched.
