Mets' Noah Syndergaard (lat) is not close to resuming throwing
New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (lat) has still not resumed throwing, and is nowhere near that step in his rehab.
Syndergaard himself updated his recovery in an interview on Boomer and Carton on WFAN Thursday. He's about four weeks into a projected six-plus week shutdown period, so this isn't a surprise. "I probably won't be able to pick up a ball for quite some time," he said. "I have no pain right now, but I want to make sure my lat is nice and stretched out and flexible before I'm ready to go."
Our algorithms project Syndergaard for just 56 1/3 more innings pitched in 2017, with a 4.01 ERA, 21.8 percent strikeout rate, and 6.0 percent walk rate.
