Kyle Hendricks lands on Cubs' DL with hand tendinitis

The Chicago Cubs placed starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks on the 10-day disabled list with right-hand tendinitis.

What It Means:

Hendricks has been dealing with inflammation in the back of his right middle finger since his last start on June 4. The injury hasn't gotten better, so a DL stint was warranted. The move was backdated to June 5, and the hope is Hendricks will miss just one start. Mike Montgomery will start in his place on Friday versus the Colorado Rockies.

Hendricks is projected for a 3.70 ERA, and 1.18 WHIP over 121 1/3 innings pitched the rest of the season, by our algorithms.
