Los Angeles Angels outfielder Shane Robinson is on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
Robinson was recently promoted from Triple-A Salt Lake to provide outfield depth in the wake of injuries to Cameron Maybin and Mike Trout. He's really just spelling Ben Revere and Eric Young Jr. when they need a rest day. Revere is starting in left field and Young is sliding over to center to replace Robinson.
In the hitter-happy confines of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League, Robinson was hitting .289/.372/.358 with 27 runs, 25 RBI, and 7 stolen bases in 183 plate appearances prior to his call-up.
