Royals moving Alcides Escobar down to eighth in the order against Houston
Kansas City Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar has been moved down to eighth in the order for Monday night's home game against the Houston Astros.
Escobar has been hitting leadoff for the Royals, but he has been struggling from the dish all season, so Whit Merrifield has been bumped up in the order as Escobar moves way down.
Escobar has played in 55 games this year, slashing .179/.204/.226 with a brutal .190 wOBA in 225 plate appearances.
