Washington Nationals outfielder Michael Taylor is starting in center field and batting ninth against the Oakland Athletics in Sunday's game.
Taylor has gotten a chance to start nearly every day with Adam Eaton (knee) out for the season, but lately he's gotten a bit rocky in his production. From May 9th to the 31st, he raised his batting average by 44 points, but his last three games have produced an uneven 3-for-12 (.250) -- those three being extra-base hits.
Taylor has a .263/.306/.453 season slash line with 5 home runs, 18 runs, 16 RBI's, and 3 stolen bases in 147 plate appearances.
