Brian Goodwin batting second for Nationals on Sunday
Washington Nationals outfielder Brian Goodwin is starting in left field and batting second against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
Goodwin is filling in for Jayson Werth (foot), who fouled a ball off his foot Saturday and could barely run down to first before he was pulled from the game. When he started on Friday, Goodwin went 4-for-5 with a triple and a two-run home run.
In 34 plate appearances since his promotion from Triple-A, Goodwin has gone .303/.324/.545 with 1 home run, 3 runs, 5 RBI's, and 1 stolen base.
