Reds' Scott Schebler (shoulder) out for examination on Sunday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Scott Schebler (shoulder) injured himself while making a diving catch in Saturday's game, and will not start Sunday against the Atlanta Braves.
This is a huge blow for the National League's home run leader. He was in a ton of pain after laying out to snag a Braves' line drive last night, and immediately called a trainer over. There is no timetable for his return, and so far no clue as to the extent of the injury. Scooter Gennett projects to start in his stead for the time being.
Schebler was hitting .241/.309/.540 before the injury, with 16 home runs, 24 runs, and 30 RBI's in 207 plate appearances. He also added three stolen bases.
