Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke went seven strong on Thursday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with eight strikeouts in a 3-2 win over the Miami Marlins.
The performance gives Greinke eight-plus strikeouts in four of his last five starts. He's now 7-3 on the season, with a 5-1 record over his last six.
After an uncharacteristically poor year in 2016, Greinke has bounced back with a 3.05 ERA, 2.97 SIERA, 29.7 percent strikeout rate and 0.98 WHIP through 12 starts (79 1/3 innings pitched) in 2017.
