Mets' Zack Wheeler a tough-luck loser on Thursday
New York Mets starting pitcher Zack Wheeler allowed just two runs in 6 1/3 innings on Thursday but was still handed the loss as the Mets' fell 2-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers
Wheeler scattered 10 hits, allowing just a RBI double to Hernan Perez in the third and a RBI single to Nick Franklin in the fourth. He walked one and struck out six, but the Mets could only muster a Wilmer Flores solo home run against the Brewers.
Despite the loss, Wheeler lowered his ERA to 3.72. He owns a 3-3 record and has struck out 8.25 batters per nine innings in 10 starts and 55 2/3 innings pitched this season.
