Brewers' Junior Guerra blanks Mets for six to pick up first win

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Junior Guerra fired off six scoreless frames Wednesday in a 7-1 victory over the New York Mets.

What It Means:

Guerra gave up just four singles, punched out four batters, and walked three to earn his first win of the season. He's looked pretty spectacular in two starts (one run allowed in 11 2/3 innings) since being activated from the disabled list for a calf injury he suffered on Opening Day.

The 32-year-old right-hander has twirled a 1.84 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 13 strikeouts (21.7 percent) across 14 2/3 innings this season. During last year's rookie campaign, he turned in a 2.81 ERA while going 9-3 in 20 starts.
