Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Skaggs (oblique) expects to return when he is first eligible to come off the 60-day disabled list.
If Skaggs is able to stick to his hoped-for timetable, he would be ready to rejoin the team some time near the end of June. He has been on the disabled list with a Grade 2 right oblique strain since late April. In terms of his progress in rehab, Skaggs started up a throwing program in mid-May.
Before his injury, Skaggs had totaled 29 strikeouts and a 3.76 xFIP in 29 1/3 innings pitched in the 2017 season.
