Dan Straily fans 10 in Marlins' victory
Miami Marlins starting pitcher Dan Straily struck out 10 while allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits over 6 2/3 innings in a 10-2 domination of the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.
This gives Straily two double-digit punchout performances in 11 starts this season. The one earned run came on an error by J.T Riddle in the sixth inning that allowed Howie Kendrick to score from first. Straily will bring a 4-3 record into a road matchup with the Chicago Cubs in his next outing.
The 28-year-old right-hander owns a 3.56 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 60 2/3 innings this season while striking out 13.50 batters every nine innings.
