Yankees' Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) took batting practice Wednesday

New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) took part in batting practice on Wednesday.

What It Means:

Ellsbury will check in with a doctor, after which he could be cleared for baseball activities. He landed on the concussion disabled list after colliding with the wall while making a catch last Wednesday. For the time being, Aaron Hicks will continue to fill in in center field, but he'll be displaced when Ellsbury returns healthy.

Ellsbury was performing well before the injury, evidenced by a .281/.349/.422 triple slash line, along with four home runs and eight stolen bases in 153 plate appearances.
