Phillies' Vince Velasquez (elbow) says injury is mild

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez (elbow) has said that his right flexor strain is only mild.

What It Means:

He will still be placed on the disabled list, and until he undergoes tests and an MRI on the elbow we won't have a good idea of how long he may end up sidelined.

Velasquez has had a bit of a dicey start to 2017, with a 5.58 ERA, 4.08 SIERA, 24.1 percent strikeout rate, 9.6 percent walk rate and 1.46 WHIP through 10 games (50 innings pitched).
