Astros calling up David Paulino to start Wednesday versus Twins
The Houston Astros recalled pitcher David Paulino from Triple-A Fresno and will have him start on Wednesday.
Paulino is replacing injured Joe Musgrove, who may miss only one start due to shoulder discomfort. The 23-year-old right-hander is a top-100 prospect in all of baseball and carried a 2.00 ERA while striking out 106 batters in 90 innings across three minor league levels in 2016.
Paulino turned in a 4.50 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 21.0 strikeout percentage in 14 innings pitched in Triple-A this season.
