Rangers' Austin Bibens-Dirkx to make first big league start Wednesday
Texas Rangers pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx will make his first major league start on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Despite the accomplishment, Bibens-Dirkx doesn't make for a recommended fantasy option in Wednesday's series finale with the Rays. He's twirled a 3.97 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 19.6 strikeout percentage in 11 1/3 innings out of the bullpen since being called up from Triple-A Round Rock on May 7.
In three starts (six appearances) for the Round Rock Express this season, the 32-year-old right-hander recorded a 3.04 ERA (4.32 xFIP), 0.97 WHIP and 19.6 percent strikeout rate across 23 2/3 innings.
