Rays calling up pitching prospect Jose De Leon on Monday
The Tampa Bay Rays recalled pitcher Jose De Leon from Triple-A Durham.
The Rays plan on using De Leon in a bullpen role for the short term, and his stay in the big leagues may be temporary as the Rays still see his future as a starting pitcher. He won't have any impact in fantasy unless he gets moved to the rotation. De Leon is one of Tampa's top pitching prospects and was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Logan Forsythe trade.
numberFire's algorithms project De Leon for 86 2/3 innings pitched with a 3.95 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 88 strikeouts the rest of the season.
