Mets will have Steven Matz (elbow) make another rehab start
New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Monday that starting pitcher Steven Matz (elbow) will make one more rehab start.
Matz looked good in his last start with Triple-A Las Vegas, but the team wants to stretch him out more, making another rehab start necessary. He will throw at least 90 pitches and if all goes well should return to the big leagues late next week. Matz has been out all year as he recovers from a strained flexor in his elbow.
numberFire's models project Matz for 108 1/3 innings pitched the rest of the season with a 4.66 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts.
