Yoenis Cespedes (quad, hamstring) won't return to Mets until next week
New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Monday that the club hopes outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (quad, hamstring) will be ready in 7-10 days.
Cespedes suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring strain when he hurt his quad during a rehab assignment over the weekend. The new injury appears to be minor as the team hopes to have Cespedes back as a DH when they open a series in Arlington against the Texas Rangers on June 6.
numberFire's algorithms project Cespedes for a .279 batting average, 15 home runs, and 44 RBI's in 280 plate appearances the rest of the season.
