Indians' Lonnie Chisenhall to sit Monday against Cubs

Cleveland Indians third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall is out of the lineup Monday as the Indians face Chicago Cubs and lefty Jon Lester.

What It Means:

Chisenhall sits with the platoon disadvantage, as he did Sunday against New York Yankees starter CC Sabathia. Without the designated hitter, Giovanny Urshela will bat eighth and play third with Carlos Santana at first base and batting clean-up.

Chisenhall's slash against lefties rose last year, but his hard-hit rate stayed at 13.8 percent with a 26.4 percent soft-hit rate. In a limited sample size this year, he has a 31.0 percent hard-hit rate with a 16.7 percent soft-hit rate, though that's over only 52 plate appearances. Our algorithms project Chisenhall to hit .253/.309/.387 over the rest of the season.
