Erasmo Ramirez gets a save Sunday, will start Monday for Rays

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Erasmo Ramirez will start against the Texas Rangers on Monday despite saving Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins.

What It Means:

Ramirez was called upon in the 15th inning on Sunday, but he only threw 12 pitches and isn't at all worried about his abilities on short rest. "My arm feels good," said the 27-year-old right-hander. "I'm glad the inning was quick. I executed every pitch, and that gave me the chance to not just feel it that much. I told (manager Kevin) Cash my arm feels good just in case you want to continue with the plans. I want to start for sure." At a cost of only $6,400 on FanDuel, Ramirez is an attractive DFS value option for Monday's slate.

Across 37 innings this season (15 appearances), Ramirez has twirled a 2.92 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 19.6 strikeout percentage. He's gone 3-0 in three starts.
