Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout will undergo an MRI on Monday on his injured left thumb.
Trout injured his thumb sliding into second base a steal attempt and was removed from the game. X-Rays were taken after the game that did not show any fractures. He has been diagnosed with a thumb sprain, but an MRI will show if any ligaments were damaged. Expect him to miss a couple of days either way.
Trout is second in the American League with a .337 batting average while he is tied with Aaron Judge for the MLB lead with 16 home runs this season.
