Detroit Tigers third baseman Nick Castellanos isn't in the starting lineup on Thursday night against the Houston Astros.
Dixon Machado will draw the start at third base for Detroit and hit eighth against Astros right-hander Mike Fiers. Tyler Collins is in center field and batting second. It's just a standard day off for Castellanos, who hasn't connected on any of his last 12 at-bats.
Castellanos is batting .220/.295/.382 with a .677 OPS in 193 plate appearances this season. He's hit four dingers and driven in 25 scores.
