Tigers have Tyler Collins batting second on Thursday
The Detroit Tigers have outfielder Tyler Collins batting second on Thursday versus the Houston Astros.
Collins has batted fifth or lower in the order in 27-of-37 games played. However, with Alex Avila and Nick Castellanos out of the lineup Thursday -- the two most frequently used second-hole hitters -- the 26-year-old Collins gets the bump up.
Collins is hitting 10-for-38 (.263) with a .785 OPS as the number two hitter this season. He is hitting .208/.286/.358 in 133 plate appearances overall.
