Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon threw a 35-pitch bullpen session on Thursday morning.
Taillon is coming off of surgery for suspected testicular cancer. There's still no timetable for his return, but he seems to be recovering steadily, and he said this bullpen session was "more competitive" than the 25-pitch session he went through on Tuesday.
Taillon has opened 2017 with a 3.31 ERA, 4.09 SIERA, 20.1 percent strikeout rate, 8.7 percent walk rate and 1.33 WHIP through 6 starts (35 1/3 innings pitched).
