Tim Beckham taking a seat Thursday for Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay Rays infielder Tim Beckham is out of the starting lineup on Thursday afternoon against the Los Angeles Angels.
What It Means:
The decision comes a day after a slumping Beckham went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Wednesday. He's gone 3-for-20 (.150) in his past five contests while striking out eight times and walking once. Daniel Robertson will start at shortstop for Tampa Bay while Michael Martinez mans second base in Thursday's series finale against right-hander Daniel Wright and the Angels.
For the season, Beckham is hitting .263/.298/.427 with 7 home runs, 18 runs scored and 23 RBI's.
