Twins taking on Baltimore Tuesday afternoon without Joe Mauer
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer is getting the day off Wednesday versus the Baltimore Orioles.
Kennys Vargas will man first base and hit fifth for Wednesday's afternoon matchup with right-hander Chris Tillman and the Orioles.
Mauer struck out twice on his way to an 0-for-4 showing on Tuesday, leaving him with a .266/.338/.367 slash in 38 games (154 plate appearances) this season. He has just two homers and 16 RBI's.
