Jose Bautista playing at third base for Toronto

The Toronto Blue Jays have outfielder Jose Bautista playing at third base Tuesday as they visit the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

Tuesday will be the first time since April of 2013 that Bautista has manned the hot corner. He is not without experience there as he has played 372 games in his career at third, mostly at the beginning of his MLB career. The move sends Darwin Barney to the bench, who had been filling in for an injured Josh Donaldson. Ezequiel Carrera will handle Bautista's typical right field spot on Tuesday.

Bautista has posted a .251/.341/.444 slash line with 55 home runs and 186 RBI's in 1,472 plate appearances while playing at third in his career.
