New York Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera (thumb) will begin his rehab assignment with High-A Binghamton on Tuesday.
A left thumb injury has sidelined Cabrera since May 13th, and it doesn't look like he's going to need a long rehab assignment before returning to big league action. Look for his return to send Jose Reyes back to third base, while T.J. Rivera will likely fall back into a utility role.
Cabrera has hit for a .257/.339/.381 slash and a .319 wOBA through 33 games (127 plate appearances) in 2017.
