The Arizona Diamondbacks have confirmed pitcher Randall Delgado will start on Wednesday versus the Chicago White Sox.
Wednesday was supposed to be Taijuan Walker's next turn, but he was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a blister after his last start. Delgado has made 15 appearances out of the bullpen this year but has not made a start in the majors since 2015. However, the 27-year-old has thrown at least three innings in an appearance four times this season.
Delgado owns a 4.05 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts (21.2 percent) in 26 2/3 innings pitched this season.
