Rockies giving Ian Desmond a day off on Monday
The Colorado Rockies are giving outfielder/first baseman Ian Desmond the night off versus the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.
Desmond has started 20 games since coming off the DL on April 30 and is getting a well-deserved night off on Monday. Gerardo Parra is in left field while Mark Reynolds will be at first against Jerad Eickhoff.
Parra is batting .261 with a .296 wOBA and four home runs in 116 plate appearances this season.
