Indians' Corey Kluber (back) on track for rehab start Thursday

Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber (back) is on track to begin a rehab assignment Thursday.

What It Means:

Kluber threw a three-inning simulated game Saturday and will toss a bullpen session Monday. Assuming that goes off without a hitch, he'll officially be cleared for Thursday's rehab outing. He might only need one trial run, and Kluber should rejoin the Indians' rotation before the end of the month if he doesn't have a setback.

While his 5.06 ERA isn't pretty, Kluber has actually looked pretty solid in 2017, with a 3.69 SIERA, 26.0 percent strikeout rate and 1.37 WHIP through 6 starts (37 1/3 innings pitched).
