Rockies' Tyler Anderson strikes out seven in win over Reds
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Tyler Anderson earned his third victory of the season on Friday, striking out seven in six innings of two-run ball against the Cincinnati Reds.
Anderson scattered just four hits and a pair of walks in the ballgame. He allowed a solo homer to Eugenio Suarez in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the sixth, but that was the extent of the damage against him. He'll look to replicate this fine effort when he takes on the Phillies in Philadelphia on Thursday.
Anderson's 6.00 ERA looks rough on the surface, but he does have a 23.4 percent strikeout rate and 7.7 percent walk rate across 48 innings on the year, and a 3.84 SIERA.
