Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Alex Wood blanked the Miami Marlins through 7 1/3 innings Friday in a winning effort.
The usually whiff-worthy Wood didn't need to be a strikeout machine last night, striking out just four of the 29 batters he faced. He'll remain a quality starter if he can stay healthy, but that "if" is a tenuous one given his history.
Wood is now 5-0 with a 1.88 ERA in seven starts and two relief appearances. He holds a 29.9 percent strikeout rate and 7.5 percent walk rate through 43 innings pitched.
