Philadelphia Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp slugged a three-run homer in Friday’s 7-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Rupp took reliever Tony Watson deep in the top of the ninth to take a close game to a blowout. The 28-year-old had a very quiet start to the season, but he’s hitting .340 with three homers over his last 13 games.
Rupp's OPS now sits at .811 for the year, and his batting average has bloomed to .255 over the last two weeks. He has four home runs, 12 runs, and 12 RBI this year so far in 108 plate appearances.
