Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon (cancer) still has more blood tests remaining.
Taillon underwent surgery for suspected testicular cancer on May 8, which was confirmed by the pathology report. The results of his future blood tests will determine his rehab schedule moving forward. He's already resumed playing catch.
Taillon has twirled a 3.31 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 20.1 strikeout percentage across 35 1/3 innings this season. His 8.7 percent walk rate is more than twice what it was during last year's rookie campaign (4.1 percent).
