The Toronto Blue Jays recalled outfielder Anthony Alford from Double-A New Hampshire and will have him make his MLB debut Friday night.
Alford is likely getting just a one-day shot to impress at the big league level as Kevin Pillar is due back Saturday from his suspension. The 22-year-old will bat eighth and play in left field Friday versus Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles.
Alford was batting .325 with a .394 wOBA, three home runs, and nine stolen bases in 141 plate appearances for New Hampshire this season.
